The Maine Youth Political Portal (MYPP) is a website made by young Mainers, for young Mainers interested in running for office. At Maine Youth Action, we believe that youth are not only society’s future but its present. Us youth are an important bloc of voters, workers, taxpayers, and visionaries—we deserve to be represented in politics as such and should have the tools to do so.
The Portal is meant to be used as a dynamic information catalog and virtual “candidate builder.” The Candidate Builder page outlines various steps and recommendations for any potential candidates, with linked resources and resource descriptions. The non-partisan resource curriculum has information on running for offices up and down the ballot, from School Board to State Senate. Remote and in-person training programs are also highlighted, along with stories and open contact lines from current young Maine politicians who are willing to provide mentorship.
The voice of the youth has never played such an important role as it does now. It’s your time to use it to secure the future you want to see!
